Our Stations are a complete litter picking tool. Users simply take a bag, take a litter picker and pick up litter for 2 minutes or more.
There are over 1200 Stations placed across the UK and Ireland and some areas have seen a reduction in litter by 61%.
They:
- connect communities
- create community bonds
- help change mindsets towards litter and plastic pollution
- are the conduit to plastic awareness and its link to climate change (link to our why)
The classic Station was designed and piloted in 2015 soon after the success of the first hashtag #2minutebeachclean. Founder, Martin Dorey, springboarded the Stations concept and with the help of our interim CEO Adam Hall and members of the Bude community, the concept came to life.
We were proud to have created this unique pioneering design that is making tangible impact each and every day across UK and Ireland beaches and in-land beauty spots.
The Re:station is a modification of our original Classic Station and we couldn’t be prouder to launch them at the start of the Summer season.
After extensive R&D, the Re:station is made from repurposed materials, diverted from landfill. It is completely sustainable and able to be recycled at the end of life. The new Station is designed to be ultra efficient in energy usage during manufacturing.
The most exciting thing about our new Station is that we now make them in-house. Our Stations and Product Manager, Simon Shergold, has been working on the product and material design for a year to create a Station that epitomises the 2 Minute ethos.
