2 Minute Beach Clean

Love the beach? Don’t let litter spoil it.

2 Minute Beach Clean

Launched in 2013 as a simple hashtag, the #2MinuteBeachClean campaign inspires coastal communities to spend just 2 minutes picking up litter and keeping beaches beautiful. It’s a quick, impactful way for everyone to protect their local coastline.

How do I do a #2minutebeachclean?

To do a #2MinuteBeachClean, all you need is 2 minutes!

It’s easy to get started. Grab a bag and a litter picker  and head to your local beach. Spend just 2 minutes collecting plastic and other debris washed up on the shore or left behind.

Dispose of it safely, recycle where possible, and remember—every item removed protects marine life.

2 minutes is all it takes to make a real impact. Ready to get involved?

Find your nearest Station

Our Stations are a complete litter picking tool. Users simply take a bag, take a litter picker and pick up litter for 2 minutes or more. You can find your nearest beach clean or litter pick station by using our Stations map!

What are ocean plastics?

Ocean plastics are waste materials, primarily plastic, that end up in our seas and oceans. They come from litter, mismanaged waste, fishing gear, and runoff from land. These plastics pollute marine ecosystems and pose a serious threat to wildlife.

Microplastics are tiny plastic fragments, often less than 5mm, created when larger plastics break down or from products like synthetic fabrics and cosmetics. They are ingested by marine animals, entering the food chain and impacting ocean health and human well-being.

Is it just us or are we seeing more and more donations being left outside of the clothing donation banks? We know it can be frustrating when the clothing banks are full but don’t let your kind gesture of donating go to waste!

It was great to have Matt @oneblueeyecornwall from join us this week at HQ!

We were joined by lots of enthusiastic people; eager to take waste off our beaches and turn plastic into treasured key rings.

Matt’s workshop really shone a light on the issue of plastic pollution and how he has tackled it in his own way through his work. We absolutely loved having our new home busy with visitors learning, working and contributing towards a cleaner planet.

Thank you Matt, and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Let us know if you came to one of our sessions, we’d love to know what you enjoyed most about the workshop!

Have You got 2 Minutes ?

#2MINUTEBEACHCLEAN

Launched in 2013 as a simple hashtag, the #2MinuteBeachClean campaign inspires coastal communities to spend just 2 minutes picking up litter and keeping beaches beautiful. It’s a quick, impactful way for everyone to protect their local coastline.

#2MINUTELITTERPICK

The #2MinuteLitterPick campaign empowers everyone to care for their local spaces—whether it’s a street, park, or woodland. Since all litter eventually makes its way to the ocean, picking up trash on land is crucial for protecting our waterways and marine life.

#2MINUTESOFPOSITIVITY

The #2MinutesOfPositivity campaign is about taking 2 minutes to boost your well-being while supporting the planet. Whether it’s reading a few pages of your favorite book, meditating, or simply pausing to appreciate nature, these small moments make a big difference for you and the planet.

#2MINUTESOLUTION

The #2MinuteSolution campaign champions small changes that add up to make a big impact. It encourages our community to share sustainable swaps they’ve made to reduce waste, cut down on single-use plastics, and shrink their carbon footprint.
