2 Minute SOLUTION

Small acts, big impact. Simple daily actions that create lasting change

What are 2 Minute Solutions?

We believe that the little changes all add up to make a BIG difference. 2 Minute Solutions are simple, everyday swaps that help you tread more lightly on the planet. Whether it’s saying no to single-use plastic, switching to reusables, or cutting food waste, small choices really do add up. 2 Minute Solutions are about reclaiming your power – one decision, one action, one habit at a time. Every swap is a step toward a healthier world.

Why build new habits?

Because small actions, done often, become second nature. From taking your reusable cup to choosing low-impact transport, these little changes create a big shift over time. They not only reduce your environmental footprint, they influence others to follow your lead. When more of us make more sustainable choices, they become the norm. Change starts small, but the ripples spread far.

Why it’s not just about plastic?

Plastic pollution is a big issue, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle. True sustainability means looking at everything: how we travel, shop, eat, and power our lives. It’s about finding balance and making changes that work for you. When we take a broader view, we unlock more ways to live lightly and create real, lasting change for the health of our planet.

A big welcome to Cousin Jack, our latest business to join Friends of The Foundation 🐳

We launched Friends of the Foundation as a way for people to get more from 2 Minute, and that includes businesses that want to support us and get more involved.

Cousin Jack is a specialist welding business that designs and builds steam locomotive boilers for heritage railways and miniature railways all over the UK and Europe.

Aaron, the founder, is passionate about the ocean and scuba diving to show case the amazing marine life found across the southwest.

We are so grateful to Cousin Jack for their support, we loved this video, made at one of their regular beach cleans at Portwrinkle beach.

Being a Friend of the Foundation is perfect for anyone who wants to go deeper, learning more, understanding the science, and connecting with our work.

As a Friend, you’ll enjoy exclusive perks, including invite-only webinars, a digital welcome pack, early access to events, and our quarterly “Beyond 2 Minutes” newsletter. You’ll also unlock a dedicated Friends webpage with extra content and limited-edition merch.

We spent World Oceans Day a little differently this year. 🌊

We all know all litter on land eventually leads to the ocean, so being able to find a second, third or fourth life for plastic is vital.

Matt aka One Blue Eye Cornwall transforms waste plastic into wonderful things, and we spent the day experimenting. We also did a little bit of work for Si who creates our clean-up stations, these medals made from quality street are used as litter pick bag discs on our school station.

Of course we had to make a little something for ourselves, using bottle caps and shredded plastic and voila, we have our very own clock.🕰️

We had a fantastic day with Matt, we can’t wait to be able to offer a series of workshops for you all very soon, let us know in the comments what you’d love to come and make!

A wild concept perhaps but definitely something to consider when you’re getting anything to takeaway, or buying a bottled drink - what reusable alternatives are there instead?

Have You got 2 Minutes ?

#2MINUTEBEACHCLEAN

Launched in 2013 as a simple hashtag, the #2MinuteBeachClean campaign inspires coastal communities to spend just 2 minutes picking up litter and keeping beaches beautiful. It’s a quick, impactful way for everyone to protect their local coastline.

#2MINUTELITTERPICK

The #2MinuteLitterPick campaign empowers everyone to care for their local spaces—whether it’s a street, park, or woodland. Since all litter eventually makes its way to the ocean, picking up trash on land is crucial for protecting our waterways and marine life.

#2MINUTESOFPOSITIVITY

The #2MinutesOfPositivity campaign is about taking 2 minutes to boost your well-being while supporting the planet. Whether it’s reading a few pages of your favorite book, meditating, or simply pausing to appreciate nature, these small moments make a big difference for you and the planet.

#2MINUTESOLUTION

The #2MinuteSolution campaign champions small changes that add up to make a big impact. It encourages our community to share sustainable swaps they’ve made to reduce waste, cut down on single-use plastics, and shrink their carbon footprint.
