2 MINUTE LITTER PICK

80% of the litter in our oceans begins in our streets and towns. You can stop it

2 Minute LITTER PICK

The #2MinuteLitterPick campaign empowers everyone to care for their local spaces—whether it’s a street, park, or woodland. Since all litter eventually makes its way to the ocean, picking up trash on land is crucial for protecting our waterways and marine life.

How do I do a #2minutelitterpick?

To do a #2MinuteLitterPick, all you need is 2 minutes!

It’s simple: grab a bag, gloves, or a litter picker, and start! Whether it’s your favourite river , park or street, spend 2 minutes collecting litter and safely disposing of it. Recycle what you can, and feel free to keep going—2 minutes often turns into more!

Every action makes a difference, so why not start now? Let’s clean up, 2 Minutes at a time!

What are the benefits of litter picking?

Litter picking transforms spaces by removing harmful waste, protecting wildlife, and boosting the beauty of public areas. It fosters community pride and inspires environmental action.

It’s also good for you! Litter picking promotes physical activity, enhances mental well-being, and connects you with nature. Plus, the sense of accomplishment from making a difference is hard to beat. Small actions, big impact!

Why it matters

Litter in our oceans harms marine life, pollutes ecosystems, and disrupts the balance of nature. Plastic waste breaks down into microplastics, which are ingested by fish and other creatures, entering the food chain and threatening biodiversity.

Litter also damages reefs, entangles wildlife, and contributes to the growing climate crisis. By preventing and removing litter on land, we protect our oceans and ensure a healthier planet for all.

Is it just us or are we seeing more and more donations being left outside of the clothing donation banks? We know it can be frustrating when the clothing banks are full but don’t let your kind gesture of donating go to waste!

It was great to have Matt @oneblueeyecornwall from join us this week at HQ!

We were joined by lots of enthusiastic people; eager to take waste off our beaches and turn plastic into treasured key rings.

Matt’s workshop really shone a light on the issue of plastic pollution and how he has tackled it in his own way through his work. We absolutely loved having our new home busy with visitors learning, working and contributing towards a cleaner planet.

Thank you Matt, and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Let us know if you came to one of our sessions, we’d love to know what you enjoyed most about the workshop!
