We are The 2 Minute Foundation, a national charity who envisions a litter-free world where nature thrives. We raise awareness and provide guidance to help communities understand plastic pollution’s impact and the need to protect our oceans and waterways.
Launched in 2013 as a simple hashtag, the #2MinuteBeachClean campaign inspires coastal communities to spend just 2 minutes picking up litter and keeping beaches beautiful. It’s a quick, impactful way for everyone to protect their local coastline.
The #2MinuteLitterPick campaign empowers everyone to care for their local spaces—whether it’s a street, park, or woodland. Since all litter eventually makes its way to the ocean, picking up trash on land is crucial for protecting our waterways and marine life.
2 Minutes of Positivity is about taking a moment for yourself, because caring for the planet starts with caring for you. Whether it’s a quick walk, reading a few pages, sea swimming, or simply pausing to breathe, this is your time. Small acts of self-care boost well-being and remind us that positive actions – however small – can make a big impact, for both people and planet.
We believe that the little changes all add up to make a BIG difference. 2 Minute Solutions are simple, everyday swaps that help you tread more lightly on the planet. How a group of women transformed their town with a massive crocheted canopy instead of plastic sheeting 🧶
The town of Alhaurín de la Torre in southern Spain has replaced its traditional plastic street awnings with a hand crocheted canopy. Hand made by local women, the new crochet canopy covers over 500 square meters of the main shopping area.
Led by local teacher Eva Pacheco and a group of dozens of women, the project began in 2019 as a more environmentally friendly and artistic approach to the plastic.
The crocheted canopy is made of recycled fabrics, threaded together to create intricate geometric patterns.

Wow – where do we begin! A weekend full of inspiration, connection and of course, the brilliant Bude community.
The purpose of our roadshows are to bring people together, in a time when community can often feel lost, it’s a beautiful reminder that so many people do care and do want to connect, whether that’s through crafting, beach cleaning, or simply being in a space together and having a conversation!

We`ve been replanting the dunes at Summerleaze beach 🌊
With the help of the Bude Dunes group we`ve been given our own section of the dunes for our beach school students.
Over 300 marram grass plants have been placed into the area, with the hope that these will grow and provide the necessary structure to allow the dunes to grow again. Our dune systems are under threat from several different issues, leading to a potential loss of this vital habitat.
Marram grass is crucial for stabilizing sand dunes, preventing erosion, and supporting biodiversity in coastal ecosystems.
We are hopeful that by having this area and various other areas replanted across the dunes, that this amazing space can be enjoyed for generations to come and provide an ideal habitat for the species that live there.
