We are The 2 Minute Foundation, a national charity who envisions a litter-free world where nature thrives. We raise awareness and provide guidance to help communities understand plastic pollution’s impact and the need to protect our oceans and waterways.
Launched in 2013 as a simple hashtag, the #2MinuteBeachClean campaign inspires coastal communities to spend just 2 minutes picking up litter and keeping beaches beautiful. It’s a quick, impactful way for everyone to protect their local coastline.
The #2MinuteLitterPick campaign empowers everyone to care for their local spaces—whether it’s a street, park, or woodland. Since all litter eventually makes its way to the ocean, picking up trash on land is crucial for protecting our waterways and marine life.
2 Minutes of Positivity is about taking a moment for yourself, because caring for the planet starts with caring for you. Whether it’s a quick walk, reading a few pages, sea swimming, or simply pausing to breathe, this is your time. Small acts of self-care boost well-being and remind us that positive actions – however small – can make a big impact, for both people and planet.
We believe that the little changes all add up to make a BIG difference. 2 Minute Solutions are simple, everyday swaps that help you tread more lightly on the planet. Whether it’s saying no to single-use plastic, switching to reusables, or cutting food waste, small choices really do add up. 2 Minute Solutions are about reclaiming your power – one decision, one action, one habit at a time. Every swap is a step toward a healthier world.

We`ve been replanting the dunes at Summerleaze beach 🌊
With the help of the Bude Dunes group we`ve been given our own section of the dunes for our beach school students.
Over 300 marram grass plants have been placed into the area, with the hope that these will grow and provide the necessary structure to allow the dunes to grow again. Our dune systems are under threat from several different issues, leading to a potential loss of this vital habitat.
Marram grass is crucial for stabilizing sand dunes, preventing erosion, and supporting biodiversity in coastal ecosystems.
We are hopeful that by having this area and various other areas replanted across the dunes, that this amazing space can be enjoyed for generations to come and provide an ideal habitat for the species that live there.

Heroes and little wins ✨
This month’s heroes are Rafe, Audrey and Pippa the dog! This awesome trio have been litter picking with their older siblings since they were babies.
The families` litter picking adventures inspired a book I am sure lots of you are very familiar with, ‘Duffy’s Lucky Escape’, written by the brilliant author, Ellie Jackson @wildtribeheroes
These early habits started young truly do lead to lifelong changes in behaviour 💙

It was great to have Matt @oneblueeyecornwall from join us this week at HQ!
We were joined by lots of enthusiastic people; eager to take waste off our beaches and turn plastic into treasured key rings.
Matt’s workshop really shone a light on the issue of plastic pollution and how he has tackled it in his own way through his work. We absolutely loved having our new home busy with visitors learning, working and contributing towards a cleaner planet.
Thank you Matt, and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Together, we’ll collect plastic from the beach and transform it into something new, creating your own keyring from recycled materials. See the whole process from shredding, melting and moulding to producing something new from old!

Not all heroes wear capes, some carry containers of litter off the beach 🌊
There is nothing that gives us more hope than this, seeing people giving back to the places they love while still enjoying time outdoors, it doesn`t always have to be an hour long beach clean or litter pick, whenever you can is enough!
