For
Schools

It’s just 2 Minutes.

We Need you !

Every school—whether in a city, town, or by the coast—interacts with plastic, from litter to packed lunches, vending machines, and more. Even if litter isn’t an issue, taking steps to reduce plastic use helps cut landfill and recycling waste.

At The 2 Minute Foundation, we believe small actions add up. Schools that make changes become beacons of good practice, inspiring others. And it all starts with just 2 minutes.

Testimonials

Students responded enthusiastically to the presentation, learning practical ways to contribute to environmental sustainability, including participating in a 2-minute beach clean. The session encouraged creative thinking and promoted awareness of the reduction of plastic waste.

Beach School Parent

My 2 children were a little anxious about attending for the first time last week. They came away buzzing and really enthused. Later in the week, we went to another beach and they were picking up litter straight away and telling us about all the things they had learnt at the session. Today they were really  looking forward to coming; you've already had such an impact.

MAKE SOMETHING AMAZING FROM PLASTIC! ♻️

🗓️12th September
📍2 Minute HQ, Bude, Cornwall

Ever wondered what happens to the plastic we put in the recycling bins? Come along for a hands-on workshop where we’ll turn recycled plastic into something useful (and funky!) that you can take home.

You’ll learn how to work with recycled plastic using everyday household appliances and equipment, so you’ll leave with not just something you’ve made, but the skills to keep creating at home.

Depending on what you fancy making, you could create:

A card wallet or pouch
A bookmark
A coaster
 A keyring
 A pair of earrings

There are two sessions available:
🕙 10am–12pm
🕐 1pm–3pm

Booking is essential, and each session is limited to 12 people, so it’s a small, hands-on workshop where you’ll have plenty of opportunity to get stuck in.

Age 16+

💚 A minimum donation of £10 per person is requested to help cover the cost of the workshop. If this would be a barrier to you joining us, please get in touch, we’d love to find a way for you to take part.

Come along, get creative, learn something new and give plastic a second life.

Head to the link in our bio to book your slot!

Join us this Sunday for a free guided snorkel safari 🤿🌊

Swap the footpaths for the underwater world as we explore Bude’s incredible marine life on a guided Snorkel Safari.

We’ll head into the water in search of colourful fish, crabs, starfish, anemones, seaweeds and all the fascinating creatures that call our coastline home. You never know what you might discover beneath the surface!

This session is suitable for confident swimmers who are comfortable snorkelling in the sea. Please bring your own snorkelling equipment, including a mask, snorkel and fins (if you use them), along with appropriate wetsuits and something warm to change into afterwards.

Your safety is our priority, so we’ll only enter the water if conditions are suitable. If the sea is too rough or visibility is poor, we’ll adapt the session or postpone it.

Come and experience Cornwall’s coastline from a whole new perspective!

📍 Meet us at: The 2 Minute Foundation HQ, Bude
⏰ Time: 1pm

🌊 Join us for this month’s Big Cornish Beach Clean!

This year we’re touring Cornwall’s coastline, bringing communities together for 12 beach cleans at some of the county’s most spectacular coastal locations.

Each month we’ll visit a different beach, spending a couple of hours caring for the places we all love. Whether you’re joining us for one event or following the tour around Cornwall, every piece of litter collected helps protect our coastline, wildlife and seas.

This month we’re heading to PORTWRINKLE, and we’d love you to join us.

Whether you can spare 10 minutes or stay for the whole session, every piece of litter collected makes a difference. Beach cleans are a great way to get outdoors, meet like-minded people, and make a visible difference to our local environment.

📍 Meeting point: Portwrinkle beach – at the bottom of the slipway (look out for our big whale flag!)
⏰ Time: 2-4pm

How the afternoon looks:

🌊 2:00–2:30pm – Arrive, say hello and collect your equipment.

🗑️ 2:30–3:30pm – Beach clean.

♻️ 3:30–4:00pm – Sort the litter, see what we’ve found, and stick around for a chat.

We’ll provide:
🧤 All the equipment you need
🐚 Coastal facts, wildlife information and beach clean tips
😊 A friendly welcome

Just bring yourself, dress for the weather, and wear suitable footwear.

Everyone is welcome, and no experience is needed. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Come along and be part of something bigger. Together, we’ll help keep Cornwall’s coastline beautiful.

See you on the beach! 💙

The Big Cornish Beach clean is in partnership with Peth Store, who is supporting the year of cleans!

Disposable barbecues are on a temporary ban due to their risk to wildlife, put in place by Andy Burnham who warned Britain is a ‘tinderbox’.

If you want to help out wildlife:

- Leave out wildlife water, shallow bowls of water in your local woodland or even in your garden (pop rocks in so any insects can get out if they fall in)

- Take your litter home and dispose of it safely, in the heat even the smallest spark can cause a fire

- Please don’t drop your cigarette butts - even the ash is a risk when the ground is this dry

- Avoid the BBQ, we know it’s the season, but for the sake of our planet, go for the picky bits and salad instead!

Let’s make some small changes for the sake our beautiful countryside and wildlife this summer who are paying the price of this unprecedented heat 💙

We’ve been asked about the wildfires happening around the UK, and our advice is the following:

- Take your litter home and dispose of it safely, in the heat even the smallest spark can cause a fire
- Please don’t drop your cigarette butts - even the ash is a risk when the ground is this dry
- Avoid the BBQ, we know it’s the season, but for the sake of our planet, go for the picky bits and salad instead!
