WHAT IS THE 2 MINUTE BEACH SCHOOL?

We are delighted to offer a full program of year round activities to suit everyone, young or old from our base in Bude, Cornwall! We have daytime sessions, extra – curricular clubs and lots of holiday pop ups.

We deliver bespoke sessions for schools, clubs and corporate groups. These can be tailored to your needs and you can visit us on the Beach in Bude, we can come to you, or we can deliver virtual sessions.

TERM-TIME DAYTIME SESSIONS

Spend your day exploring our beaches, delving into rockpools and discovering our coastal habitats.

Sessions will be full of environmental based games and learning, with a whole heap of inspiration. Find out what YOU can do to protect the oceans!

Our outside classroom is naturally inspiring, ignites imagination and confidence in everyone whilst developing a love of the ocean.

BEACH SCHOOL SESSIONS (TERM TIME)

The Minke & Humpback Whales  


Wednesday 9.30 – 11.30am (Ages 5-13ish) 


Our Primary offering at Beach School is designed to bring lessons to life, set within the most amazing classroom, children learn all about the ocean and environment, tackling the big questions and helping to save the planet by becoming 2 Minute Superheroes! From discovering local wildlife to helping clean up our coastlines, these lessons have been created by fully qualified teachers, ensuring that children develop key skills and build excellent environmental knowledge.  


 

 

The Fin Whales 


Tuesdays – 12.30 – 2.30pm (Ages 14+ or currently studying for studying for GCSE’s) 


Join us on in the world’s best classroom! Being within the environment allows us to study it in greater detail. The Fin Whale lessons are designed to assist in scientific and environmental learning. Developed and run by fully qualified teachers, we make learning much more interactive, providing students with the opportunity to foster independent learning skills, increased environmental awareness and build confidence in studying more complicated matters. From Coastal Nature to Plastic Pollution, we cover a wide range of topics designed to engage and build students environmental knowledge.  

 

 

The Orca Whales  


Tuesdays – 12.30 – 2.30pm (A family session, aimed at primary level age children) 

Our family session is always popular, with something to love for all the family. From learning about Ocean life to getting creative, the activities both inform as well as educate. These sessions are run by fully qualified teachers, who have designed these sessions to make the most learning in the outdoors, in the most amazing classroom.  

The Ocean Protectors - Extra Curricular Club

Join our fun and friendly extra-curricular club. You'll learn all about our oceans and coastal habitats, the problems they are facing, and how to protect them. 

These sessions run term-time, all year round. When it gets too dark to be on the beach, we move inside and continue the fun!

These sessions run weekly throughout the year so please always come prepared for whatever the weather might be.

Ocean Protectors – The Shrimps  


Wednesdays 4.00 – 5.30pm (Ages 6 -11) 


Want to know more about our ocean life and help the planet by becoming a 2 Minute superhero? Well, here’s your chance! The Shrimps is our primary level offering for children who love all things ocean! From rockpooling to sand sculptures as well as getting creative these sessions cover a wide range of topics to keep children both informed and engaged.  

 

 

 

Ocean Protectors – Shannies  


Tuesdays 16.30 – 18.00pm (Ages 12+)  


Care about our oceans? Want to get involved in helping out? All whilst having plenty of fun!  


Join us every Tuesday afternoon to help clean beaches, learn about our coastal environment and celebrate what’s best about the beach! 

 

 

Youth Volunteering 


Wednesdays 16.00 – 17.30pm (Ages 12+) 


There’s always something that we need help with here at The 2 Minute Foundation. 


 

From beach cleaning to repair work, we need enthusiastic volunteers to keep everything running. We also appreciate help with our younger Shrimps group, and they will benefit massively from great environmentalist role models!  

smoothly!  Whether you are looking to get some experience for your CV, or working toward your Duke of Edinburgh awards, we will welcome you into the 2 Minute Team.


Join us at the Crab Shack, every Wednesday afternoon.
